1. Maintenance of Green Spaces consultation

This consultation outlines proposals for the introduction of a new policy relating to maintenance regimes of green spaces within Cheshire East. As part of the policy site schedules have been produced which set out the typology and overall zone rating for each site. The revised approach allows us to deliver savings which were highlighted in the Councils Medium Term Financial Strategy 2023-2027 whilst providing a framework to drive consistency of standards across all Council maintained green spaces and delivering opportunities for rewilding of specific areas, promoting increases in biodiversity.

2. Learning Disability Respite Pre-Consultation Survey

The respite services that the Council support have been in place for several years and the time has come for, the Council to review the current offer and consider what is the best way in the future to provide support to those who access learning disabilities respite services in Cheshire East. To help us plan and develop services for the future, we would like you to tell us what is most important to you when looking at respite services and any ideas you might have for new approaches.

3. Allocations Policy Consultation 2023

It is a statutory requirement under the Housing Act 1996 for local authorities to have an Allocations Policy in place which outlines how social housing located within their authority will be allocated. The current Cheshire East Council (CEC) Allocations Policy was approved in 2018. Minor amendments have been made since then to bring the Policy into line with new legislation. Housing staff have been considering the existing policy and areas in need of improvement incorporating comments, compliments, and complaints about it. It is therefore proposed that some sections of the Policy need to be amended.

4. Final Draft Biodiversity Net Gain Supplementary Planning Document

The Final Draft Biodiversity Net Gain Supplementary Planning Document (BNG SPD) has been published for consultation and provides guidance for all parties involved in the planning application process, explaining how Biodiversity Net Gain should be achieved in development proposals across the Borough. The consultation will run from 12pm on Tuesday the 31 of October 2023 to midnight on Friday the 1 of December 2023.

5. Final draft Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (DC SPD) and Final Draft Environmental protection Supplementary Planning Document (EP SPD)

The final draft DC SPD has been published for consultation and provides further guidance about the provision of and/or contributions towards infrastructure, facilities, and services for the plan area, set out the circumstances where infrastructure provision, including financial contributions, will be sought through planning obligations. The final draft EP SPD has been published for consultation and provides further guidance on a range of environmental issues that must be addressed in the planning process, including air quality, noise pollution, odour, and contamination. The consultations will run from 12pm on Friday the 17 November 2023 to midnight on Friday the 15 December 2023.

6. Shaping Our Future Survey 2023

Please complete this survey to help shape the priorities for the borough of Cheshire East over the short, medium, and long term. All responses will be considered and used to inform the creation of the new plan for Cheshire East. The plan will be launched in March 2024 and will cover the period April 2024 – March 2028.

7. School Travel Policy Consultation 2023

Cheshire East Council is proposing a number of changes to its school transport policies. The revised policies will reflect updated Department of Education “Travel to school for children of compulsory school age” guidance. We are also looking at how we can simplify our processes for the mutual benefit of both the council and its residents.

8. Strategic Leisure Review Consultation 2023

Cheshire East Council has launched a consultation on potential ways funding for leisure services can be targeted to deliver the greatest impacts on residents’ health and wellbeing – while also ensuring that essential savings can be made. The council is putting forward these proposals given the wider financial challenges it is facing.

9. Adult Social Care Charging Consultation 2023

Cheshire East Council is seeking your views on several proposed changes to its Adult Social Care charging policy. The aim is to review the way contributions are calculated in line with national guidance and update rates and fees to reflect the cost of current care prices.

10. Direct Payments Policy Consultation 2023

“Direct Payments” are monetary payments made by Cheshire East Council to all those eligible for care and support from the council, and their carers, for the purpose of meeting some or all of their care and support needs. The Direct Payment Policy applies to adults and children in receipt of a direct payment and provides an overview, guidance, and steps that need to be taken to manage Direct Payments for care and support needs. The policy has been written to provide a source of information for people who already have a Direct Payment or are thinking about getting one. The policy was first published in 2015, and the council is now updating it.
