Kitfield Avenue Tree Pollarding

We are delighted to report that the pollarding of trees on Kitfield Avenue, St Ann’s Avenue and Sutton Lane is now complete.

This has been a tough assignment due to the length of time since the trees were last pollarded, and the branches having reached the telephone cables above, meaning that specialist equipment was required to finish the job.

Cllr Mike Hunter, Chair of the Town Council, said, “We would like to thank John, Rupert and Paul from Rupert Maxwell Grounds Maintenance Ltd for their diligence and professionalism. This will make a real difference to the lives of the residents on these streets, increasing their natural light and reducing the residue falling onto their cars below.”

The contract was awarded via the Council’s “best value” procedure, and we are sure we received excellent value on this occasion. It was jointly funded by Middlewich Town Council and Cheshire East Council.

Pollarding is necessary to keep trees healthy and under control.
