New Cemetery Area Created for Burials & Interment of Ashes

A new burials and interment of ashes section has been created in the new part of the Middlewich Cemetery at Finney’s Lane, following the request and advice from Cheshire East Council Officers. This will allow continuity of service whilst investigations into the previous burial administration takes place.

Utilising the expertise of Mayor Cllr Simon Whittaker, who has a background in structural and civil engineering, the project was planned, overseen, and executed internally using labour and support from the Town Rangers and a local supplier that provided the necessary materials and equipment hire.

Delivering the project in-house has allowed the council to make significant cost savings whilst maintaining full control of project delivery within agreed timescales.

This section will operate under the new management of the Town Council which is being temporarily administered via a service level agreement with Cheshire East Council.
