Changes to Meetings
In light of the period of national mourning for HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh and the potential end of virtual meetings from 7th May there will be some changes to upcoming meetings.
The Internal meeting on 13th April is CANCELLED.
The April Full Council meeting will now take place on Monday 26th April.
The Annual Town Meeting (that is of the electors of the Town, not the Council) will take place on Thursday 29th May.
The May Full Council meeting will take place on Tuesday 4th May.
It is not then clear as to when further Council meetings will be able to take place. We hope that the legal challenge to continue to allow online meetings will be successful as we believe they provide better access to all and have increased engagement.
The Government have issued a consultation on online meetings, which we would encourage residents to respond to and give their views on online meetings https://www.gov.uk/…/local-authority-remote-meetings…
If the legal challenge is not successful then we will return to in person meetings after the 21st June or when government guidance allows the same.
