Cheshire East Health and Wellbeing Service

Health and wellbeing service

Everyone is at risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and some forms of dementia. The good news is that these conditions can often be prevented – even if you have a history of them in your family.

Cheshire East Council is offering free walk-in wellbeing checks without an appointment at many locations across Cheshire East.

Think of your free wellbeing check as a quick MOT for your body, health, and wellbeing.

The check will last about 20 to 30 minutes and you’ll be asked some simple questions. For example, about your family history and choices which may put your health at risk. Your height, weight, age, gender and ethnicity will be recorded and your blood pressure taken.

This new health and wellbeing service is in addition to the NHS Health Check, which is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74. It’s designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia.

If you are interested in having the Wellbeing Bus carry out health checks on your workforce complete our Health and Wellbeing Bus expression of interest form.

As people get older, they have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions and an NHS Health Check can help find ways to lower this risk.
