Little Feet and Hands Bug Competition and Big Middlewich Bug Hunt 2021
Winners of the ‘Little Feet and Hands’ Bug Competition 2021
We are very pleased to announce the winners of our ‘Little Feet and Hands’ bug competition which closed on the 6th June. Choosing the winners has been a difficult decision and the choice of colour, use of accessories (including googly eyes!) and careful drawing techniques were all considered as part of the judging process. The quality and creativity of the entries was outstanding and we will be displaying a colourful selection of these in our main office window for people to view. However, we can now reveal that Sofia, aged 5, Maddison, age 6, and Harley age 2½ have been chosen by the judges to receive one of our special goody bags which include a Bug Hotel Kit. Winners have been informed by email and they will be able to collect their prizes this week. Thank you to everyone who took part.
The Big Middlewich Bug Hunt 2021
Pictured below are some of the fabulous pictures sent in to us by our successful Bug Finders. It has been a joy to see all the photographs and we are so pleased that our very first Big Middlewich Bug Hunt 2021 proved immensely popular even in the pouring rain! Thank you to everyone who took part and we hope that all our intrepid explorers enjoyed searching our local area for our elusive bees and ladybirds. We have our suspicions that there will be another horde hiding in our town in 2022….
The Golden Butterfly – Ellie, our top prize winner enjoys her family day out.
Eagle eyed Ellie found our big Golden Butterfly prize in the Big Middlewich Bug Hunt. This week we received a lovely set of photos of Ellie and her family enjoying their day out at BeWilderwood near Whitchurch, Cheshire.
Ellie’s Mum Kate told us “What a fantastic day we have had. Thank you so much for putting on such a fab event and thank you for such a fantastic prize. Ellie has had a brilliant day and we are already planning the next visit”
Little Feet and Hands Competition – for young children
Take part in our free ‘Little Feet and Hands Competition’ for young children – with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes to be won.
It is simple to enter: On an A4 sheet of paper, create a bug or creature using your painted feet and/or hands or using the shape of your hands and feet and colouring in. Entries must include the name of a Parent/Guardian on the back of the sheet. Please include an email and contact telephone number and the first name of the entrant and their age.
Closing Date Sunday 6th June. Send your entries via post to: Middlewich Town Council. Victoria Buildings, Middlewich. CW10 9AS Or drop your entry into the postbox in the main door of the building.
